HIDs on a budget

Do they sell the normal H4 at Advance Auto or Walmart? I'd like to take a look at them.

Yea thats a cool idea. Make sure thatll pass inspection.

Incidentally, I never said harnesses were a bad idea. I said with MY kit, they're unnecessary. They draw under 7A on initial ballast charge. And Celly, I'm waiting to hear back from Green on the Canada deal.

I just got my summer job. So I think I'm going to splurdge and get them. They won't be going in until I can figure out how to wire them up how i want them.

Andy, no need. I scored a filter from another online retailer in PA (More than Tires") and it's currently under my hood. I thought maybe you were ignoring me because I get under the skin of your boy, "AK" on FXN. ;)

Thanks nonetheless.

Brad

p.s. I can imagine harnesses aren't "necessary", but can't hurt if they are of better quality than OEM. In my case, they are. I feel the kit you're selling is a superb deal.

start trying harder celly...its nothin but love on this end.

That's the thing Russell. I don't try. Sort of the opposite. Sort of hard to tell you what I think about some of your mods (or your dad's) without getting my head bitten off. I know better now. I should know better after all the people who have been trolled by you in the past.

you just said you like to get under my skin...now you say you dont try..hmmmm double talk? no biggie celly..like i said..nothing but love for ya.

Please take you pissing contest out of my thread. I will make a new thread for you guys to decide who likes who if you would like. Just PM me

Sorry Todd.

Good luck with the HIDS Todd. I'm sure digging mine. I did look at Andy's setup, but decided to up my budget and go with some name brand stuff and the harness. His kits really do look like a great setup for the money. I would have recommended that setup right away but you seemed to be looking for harnesses. I'm sure you'll be fine without them and can always find a harness later when $$$ permits.

I just placed my order for a 5000K set from CQLight(link I posted earlier). We'll see how that works out. If I'm not happy with the light output, I'll upgrade to 6000Ks.

So hopefully they'll be in by next weekend :)

I've pretty much got the wiring figure out. Just waiting on the package now. They should be in by mid-week.

I will be doing a write-up on how I wire them up.

They're in, they're working, and they're wonderful!

The 5000K bulbs are definetly the way to go. The kit seems to be of good quality. It includes 9007 connectors to directly connect to the stock harness(not used in my installation). Everything worked perfect.

I'm glad I took the time to wire them up how I did(write will be done in the near future). They may be bright, but they don't have the distance my Daylighters do(which are extremely yellow now! :p). They work in either high/low beam position with the on/off knob and with the Autolights. Best of all, it was less than $215 to my door. Time will tell the quality of the kit though.

Pics will be posted after I get back to school tomorrow night...
