Here we go…. Not all miles on original engine, or transmission.
But I don’t really get it…. change the spark plugs, mileage is ok, sure. Change the fuel injectors, mileage is ok, sure. Rewire the entire truck, mileage is ok, sure. Change the chains and guides, probably not, mileage not ok. Lots of body work, mileage still ok, I guess. Rebuild your own engine, not sure if mileage still counts. Have a rebuilt engine installed, that Is not OK, mileage is no longer “authentic”. And transmission rebuild means that mileage does not count? What about the transfer case? Or differentials?
My rig is absolutely NOT a numbers matching collectors vehicle, if there is such a thing. But the mileage is there. Everything wears out, you just have to keep after it. And this Forum provides the information for that.
Even if we start today, with my 20+ year old rig and 550k+ miles, I bet my truck will outlive and outlast most 2021 brand new vehicles.…
Go Second Generation. Take care, and drive safe!
