276,000 on it but transfer case is broke...

94 X Limited, stock engine and tranny, tranny is starting to slip

Milage: ~170,500

1996 4.0 185000 only mild electrical problems. engine doesn't look like it's been messed with. but now the cats need replaced.

1994 Eddie Bauer Ex purchased used at 174K miles, now with over 303,000 miles on the original motor and tranny!

I have only fixed what was broken. Electrical issues, O2 sensors, Lower/ Upper intake manifold gaskets, Radiator, Tranny modulator Valve, Light switch etc.

The better you takes care of your truck, the better it will take care of you!

98 xlt 187xxx replaced motor a year and a half a go. a year ago had tranny rebuilt rest is stock

1996 - 200k / 124,000 miles

Thie thread is inspiring. Nice to see such high mileage with orig engines.
I have 200k on mine aand I just replaced the fuel pump, tune up and alternator. Needs tires. Orig engine. I think the 2nd gear syncro is going but when I replace the clutch or clutch release I will do it all at the same time. Love the 5spd.

1995 Limited with 81,000 miles! All original.

I recently bought it from the original owner, older lady. She drove it 5,400 miles per year and did maintenance based on time, not mileage so it had all service done whether it was required or not.

The truck looks new inside and out.

I'm at 227k

I bought my '95 Limited new. I'm at 227k now. I replaced front wheel bearings and front brakes @ 150k. Had some stuff about 100k replaced, belt tensioner, and multi function switch in steering column. Also around 120k had a module burn out in the computer display, that was kind of a bugger to get fixed. Had to replace the CD changer and driver's side seat belt about 160K. Had to replace the subwoofer at about 180k. About 2000 mile ago, I paid for my first set of new tires, thanks to the 2 Firestone recalls. My back brakes and exhaust system is still the original. The reliability of my Explorer has far exceeded my expectations. And to think I almost traded it off with 59k.

My dad has a 1996 Explorer sport. He drives it for a courier services for 6 years now. He has had to do a few transmissions, its a manual and they tend to go some. The only thing he has ever done to the engine is the thermostat, and he's only done that once. He bought it with 140,000 miles on it and it just went through and pass the Pennsylvania inspection process, current milage, 560,000.

To the Moon....and back even!

At its closest point, the Moon gets to 363,104 km (225,622 miles), and at its furthest point, it's 405,696 km (252,088 miles).
plus anything from PA is awesome (I am from PA)

560k !! ... that gave me chills!!

I have a 2001 with 245,000 and i am orginal owner. Replace thermostat @ 80,000 and today my AC clutch went out and broke orginal belt.

'98 Ex XLT - 5.0

I just inherited a '98 Ex XLT. 160k with original engine and drive train. Does need major Tune Up and front end work. Hence the reason I am here surfing this site. I have not stopped reading and searching for the last week. Thanks to all that posted before me.

97 Mounty 5.0
176xxx miles, bought it with 168xxx miles.
Drove from PA to NM.
Then drove a current total of 1250 miles off road.
The engine doesn't even burn oil.

In post #72 I'd reported 250K miles on my '98 XLT SOHC - I just passed 300K miles still on original engine and transmission. Since post #72 I've done:

replaced both lower ball joints
replaced idle air controller
replaced upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, and while there replaced the forward timing chain tensioner

SOHC death rattle started at 250K, little change since then. Pretty good rattle going from the transmission heat shield, I gotta get under there and wrestle with it.

Plastic sun visor clip broke a month ago - no longer an orderable part. Sigh.

Overall I'm a pretty happy customer.

changed factory plugs and wires at 209,000 on my 97 Ranger 2.3 I4 o.0 promptly also replaced factory shocks and coil springs... factory clutch still going at 213,000.

1999 Mountaineer 5.0 AWD
206,000 miles
Original engine, tranny and drivetrain.

Just shy of 204,000 miles: Original engine (4.0L OHV), transmission (5R55E), transfer case, differentials, A/C compressor, water pump, power steering pump & rack ..... and alternator until the charging bolt sheared off when I tried removing it. Did add an inline transmission filter and auxiliary cooler at 184K though. Radiator was replaced about 8 years ago.
