high rpm shifts

my 02 4.0 shifts quite high lately, especially when its wide open, about 5300+ sometimes as much as 6000. any ideas on whats causing this? truck is completely stock no rebuilds or mods to anything.

I'm don't know a whole lot about this but I read in someone else's thread the other day that this could be the beginning of the clutch slipping. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in

hmmm nvr thought about that. i do believe it needs servicing on the trans. but funds are tight right now. i noticed it only revvs high at about 60% thrttle to full throttle but not any other times.
