Highway MPG

These numbers while they seem scattered are pretty accurate to what I'm getting. 18.5 ish in a total mix of city/highway, but on highway 55-60 ish I can average up to almost 28 with conservative driving. On highway at 65-70ish and being less grandpa like I average about 24mpg. In town I can drive the number way down as well if I drive like a teenager. Bottom line is that I believe this vehicle's mileage corresponds to driving style much more than any previous vehicle I've owned. Other vehicles aggressive vs. passive yielded a few MPG difference. With the Explorer... it can be 10mpg swings.

I have a 2012 6 cyclinder FWD started with 1600 miles. I just got back from an 1800 mile trip from DFW to Crested Butte Colorado. We had 4 adults and lots of luggage. Total overall gas mileage was 23.5 on the trip computer and 22.9 hand calculated. The best we had was 26 going from Gunnision, CO to Clayton, NM. 336 miles and 3/4 tank of gas.
