I was just doing a oil change, and I wasnt paying attention, and ratched too far, and out came the drain plug and oil went EVERYWHERE! I would say about 2 qts were pooled on my driveway. I soaked as much as possible up with paper towels, and I just put a thick layer of Comet with bleach and ground it in to soak up what it could, but a need tips on getting it up PRONTO. We have a garden show at our house tomorrow, and a two foot by two foot oil spill isnt going to make my parents happy.
PLEASE HELP ME!

Kitty litter! Go Now! :D

Kitty litter... check

engine degreaser i think they sell a drivewayu cleaner sumwhere 2

Leave your truck parked over it for now

Clean your room, wash the dishes, mow the lawn.
Do what ever it takes to get on their good side and stay there !!!!!!!!

After that, engine degreaser and elbow grease works well on the stain.

Jackhammer. If you can't get the stain up... take it out! :p

Well as for now its got kitty litter ALL over it... and I'm just going to show them it and promise to pay to have it professionally removed.... at least I know how to change oil now :)
(I also have a little too much mobile 1 in my engine, about 1/3 qt too much, but you can imagine im a little aprehensive about removing any.

Kitty litter (or the special stuff they sell for soaking up oil which is just like......kitty litter)

Then use a degreaser to emulsify what is left, and rinse it away

Or bug a neihbor for a propane torch or someone, or start a fire on it, and burt it away!

e·mul·si·fy

TRANSITIVE VERB:
Inflected forms: e·mul·si·fied , e·mul·si·fy·ing , e·mul·si·fies
To make into an emulsion.

e·mul·sion

NOUN:
1. A suspension of small globules of one liquid in a second liquid with which the first will not mix: an emulsion of oil in vinegar. 2. A photosensitive coating, usually of silver halide grains in a thin gelatin layer, on photographic film, paper, or glass.

I'm using definition #1 :)

carb cleaner
brake cleaner

POWER WASHER

Driveway cleaners

You can get driveway cleaner at any home improvement store. Spray it on let it sit and then hose it away- it only works with fresh oil spills like most cleaners- if its concrete and the concrete hasnmt been sealed it WILL soak in. You may be able to use a masonary wash like muratic acid to etch the surface of the concrete if the spill isnt too bad- pour a bunch on (do a whole area so you dont create a "clean" spot) let it bubble a bit scrub it around and then wash it off a few times with some water.

For tomorrow put a big planter filled with pretty flowers and the registration book for the show over the top of it. Smile as everyone walks by:D

Good Luck .

Your mom always wanted a bird bath there didn't she?

Is it worthwhile trying to go get it now so I can do something about it while its still relatively fresh, or will tomorrow morning do?
Ohh well, I am helping there is some sort of professional cleaning company that can help (also found out that we are on day two of the tour, that buys us some time! :))

Actually, I just got off the phone and fessed up to her. She really didnt care and thought it was funny. She's glad that I am try to fix it and thinks its funny that I came here for advice. Anyways, she says she doesnt give a flying crap so long as I clean it up as best I can.
Haha, teaches me to try and change my oil for the first time with 2.5 hours of sleep and very hungry. The worst part was I began draining it like 5 minutes after my car was on (I was going to let it drip drain for about an hour) so the oil got ALL OVER me and it was hot as hell. Anyways, I don't think I'll ever have a problem changing oil again!

Glad she thought it was funny.

And I was thinking, it's your driveway, who cares?

And exactly what is a garden show? Is it anything like a home show?

Who cares what those people think? Park a car there and put one of those large sheet metal drip pans under it, like you are trying to prevent oil spills on the drive. Who will actually crawl under the car and move it?

Or take more oil and write OOPS. LOL

I know, oil spills on a new drive suck!
