Has anyone installed Homelink in the drivers visor of a 2009 Sport trac with the sunroof? I was wondering if the cut-out was there like the F150. Anyone install one elsewhere? Its a really nice feature I can't believe Ford didn't offer it.

I didn't put the homelink in my Sport Trac, but I did install it in our 11 Mustang. I bought a new set of visors from Ford with the switch and wireing. There was not a cutout in the original visor. I did do a little research and found several people selling the homelink transmitters alone on ebay etc. There were several discussions on AllFordMustangs.com
The switch is a universal switch with 3 separate programmable buttons. As I recall an individual installed it on the outside of the overhead console, pretty straight forward install.

I bought a set of F150 visors with the homelink installed. Never got around to try installing it. I was more interested in the double visor that flips down so one can stay on the door window.

What year F150? With or without sunroof?

I will check and get back with part numbers.

Were you able to locate the F-150 part numbers?

I added a Gentex mirror with the homelink buttons built in. I'm use to my garage door buttons being right there.

Plan B for me was to use the Explorer trim.

If your ST has a moonroof & power rear window, this Explorer trim might not work for you.

Unable to use that setup with moonroof.

I decided to try installing a homelink unit in the ST. The transmitter hasn't arrived yet,but plan on diving in this weekend. I found a couple of forums on how to remove the upholstery from the visor. One on a Ford Truck site where there is a factory cutout and another on a Pontiac G-8 site where the cutout is manually cut out. Both seem fairly easy. Will advise what I find when I get it apart. BTW, the unit I put in the Mustang is very convenient. No battery to deal with, not in the way, can't lose it and it will hold 3 codes.

Completed the install today, Everything turned out well. The phsical cutout for the unit IS NOT under the fabric. However, the square shape of the Homelink transmitter is somewhat visible on the plastic shell. I dremeled the area out and low and behold, underneath on the inside of the back plastic panel were the mounting squares and securing tit for the Homelink module. I ran the wiring through the visor and tied into the vanity light. The removal of the vanity light went ok, went on everyone elses R&R info. It has 8 small **** that press into the plastic frame underneath the fabric. The only problem, they would not click back in. I ended up flairing each tip slightly with a soldering gun which took up the slack and the vanity light clicked back into place.
