Turns out when my hood lost that fight with the north dakota wind, the hood hinges were slightly bent. crap.

Is swapping the hood hinges out difficult? is it all one piece that can be swapped?

How much should i pay for hood hinges from a non-u pull it yard? Thats all i've got up here. stupid ND weather.

anyway i have a warehouse and a small electric forklift that can support the hood with a cargo strap. Any recommendations on how to do this? any input would be great!!

I swear I responded to a thread like this earlier tonight...

The hood hinges are an entire unit, all you do is loosen the bolts in the firewall, and on the hood, and boom, it's off. I would think no more then 15-20 a piece for the hinges.

To replace the hinges i would do the following:
1. Trace the outline of the hinges on the firewall and hood. If the hinges are bent and the position in the firewall on hood hasn't changed this will help. Because if you outline where the old hinges sit, you can install it in the relatively same position... helping with alignmnet issues.
2. Next I would prop the hood open like normal, and use your forklift and cargo strap to take some of the weight off of the prop.
3. Loosen the bolts that connect the hinge and the hood, should be 2 bolts on each side, might be different though.
4. Once the hood is out of the way and SAFELY secured, remove the hinges.
5. Re-install in backwards order.

Once you look at the hinges and where the bolts are, it'll explain itself. I know on my 1993, the hinges took a bit of "convincing" to remove cause there was a sound proof foam or insulation, but it came right out.
