Does anyone have the hood scoops from lund on there explorer if so, did you use just the 2 sided tape or did you use something else. I want them to stay on for good even when I am on the highway and what is a good dewaxer and degreaser to use to put them on. Will some epoxy work good with keeping them on:redexp:

My cousin is a body man and he has installed lots of those lund scoops,he just uses the tape and he has never had one come back.have you seen the single scoop they got ot now, that would look sweet on a ex.

There is a guy around here with a red X, he has those Lund scoops. I will ask him if he has had any problems. I do know this, you can see the 1/8" gap between the hood and the scoops. Looks cheap to me, if I could figure a way to make them look molded into the hood, I would have them on my X right now.

thanks

thanks for checking on that for me and yes, I know you can see the gap. That sucks but that is if you are looking at it up close not from a distance

Is there enough of a lip to use pop rivets or screws?
If the scoops were painted to match the body and you used an aluminum rivet, I think that would look cool. Just take the time to do it right. Summit has a lot of hood scoops...some are cheaper than the Lunds I believe.

I believe Godspeed has them on his Ex. Try a search of his name, there are some pics somewhere on the site.

Lund has a new scoop out goes right in the middle of the hood kind of looks like a shacker hood scoop, looks really sweet.

1991-1994

the lip on the middle of the 91-94 would not except this shaker hood would it? That is one bad thing about the hood :bounce:

I have not looked into it,my cousin is a wizard at body work I bet he could get it to work.

yes cutting the hood is not for me

I love that guys truck and he put some 20's on it and it looks great but I am not cutting my hood all apart to make them functionable.:nono:

I bet it keeps the motor cooler,I wonder how do you stop the rain from getting in?

good question

I wouldnt do that and the rain could seep in like a sist and would do some serious damage:nono:

The only upside would be a cooler engine. My ex gets real hot under the hood.My mustang had the cobra hood with a scoop and it really felt like the motor ran better with all that air coming in,I just used to park it when it was raining

what year stang V6 or V8

I love stangs and what year was yours and I bet it was a great looking car like your X-Sport is.:D

I just sent you a picture Fred:)

got it thanks

It looks cool:D

well how do cars that come with stock hood scoops keep the rain out?

I think it all in where they put the scoop

If you are concerned about water getting in some have scoops that open towards the rear, they are called something else but I dont remember right now.
