Hood won't close.

I drive a '98 Sport.......I swear, I've had more issues with this hood more than anything else on the truck.

I've had to replace the hood latch because it wouldn't open, I've also replaced the cable because it got stretched.

Now, the hood won't close.

The hood goes down all the way, it doesn't latch, and just bounces back up. There is no obvious interference, I've already adjusted the hood latch as high as it will go.

Please shed some light, I won't drive it with the secondary latch being the only thing securing it down.

If you look in thru the grill area you should be able to see what is off and causing you the trouble. It's most likely that it's just not lining up properly or the latch is to tight.

If the mechanism gets dirty, the spring latch won't work well. Spray it with WD-40 and you're good to go...
