I just got the explorer and would like to put a amp into the explorer. . .

How are would it be? I had a leftover signal converter from my old car, takes speaker signal and convers it to RCA for amp, so I basically just pull out my HU with the tool and plug in the wires right? If so, is there also a wire I can use as a remote wire for my amp? I really hate having a switch like my last car. (dead batteries)

If someone knows can you also include wire colors?

2000 explorer, radio/cd with 6disc changer. .

thankyou

yeah you can use the line level converter..... also in the stock wiring, there should be a wire for a power antenna, this is what i used as my amp turn on, it worked fine......

great, can you tell me the color of that please? the antenna wire that is. . . . my explorer doesn't have power antenna, but is the wire still located where the HU is? I rather hit all the wire in 1 try hehe

not exactly sure on an 01 sorry....... the wire should still be there and be active though.....

Dead Link Removed

since I got a 2000 explorer I followed the 1999model

after reading that, do you think I can hook the amp remote to the " O" +12 Volt Ignition Wire ?

i dont feel like downloading an ftp right now... but i wouldnt do it, as very low amperage/voltage is needed for the turn on.... however, you can wire the amps power lead into the 12v switched power..... but that depends on what kind of wire your using and such......
