My horn in my 2002 XLT just starts on its own this morning at 5:30.
I could not open the doors with the remote, so I had to use the key.
I could get it to stop momentarily by pressing the horn on the steering wheel.
After a minute or two of honking and pressing, honking and pressing, I finally got it to stop long enough for me to pull the two horn fuses.

It also did this a couple of days ago on my way to work, but it stopped immediately when I pressed the horn and did the same thing a few minutes later, again it stopped when I pressed the horn.

Hasn't done it again until this morning...any ideas?

Something in the wheel making contact, until you push it, which somehow breaks contact? Dunno....

Well, I just pulled the airbag module off to try to find any wires shorting out or anything similar, but no luck.
I was able to take out a couple of torx screws at the top of the module that allowed me to pull the front cover
of the module forward enough to see what, i guess, is the horn contact. It looks like a large circular electronic
contact pad. I couldn't get to it to pull it forward because of the airbag seal at the bottom.
Plus, I was afraid to mess with it too much for fear it would blow up in my face.
Guess I'll just have to go without a horn for a while...maybe I'll just get one of those canned air horns. :D
