hose / barb size

hi there, need to pick up some fittings for a cooling system mod I am working on, and I am at work and not gonna be with the truck before I hit up the store.

So, does anyone offhand know the inside diameter heater hose size, for the hoses that go from the heater control valve to the firewall (into the cabin heater)? Someone told me 5/8, someone else said 3/4. Its from a 96 Ranger 4L. Put another way, what is the barb size for the little barbs sticking out from the firewall that the heater hoses attach to.

You could find out if you ask somebody in the auto parts store. Just ask for the hose which is a replacement, and measure that one. Some replacement hoses are 5/8" on one side, and 3/4" on the opposite side, so it gets confusing.
