My alternator pulley is pretty hot after running the engine for a few minutes. It is definitely the pulley as the alternator casing isn't very hot at all. Belt is brand new and has maybe a half inch or less movement when I press on it. The alternator itself is oem and I installed new brushes in it, but never changed the bearing. Alternator has about 40k on it and it sat for a few years. Could it be the bearing? Belt slipping or too tight? Or is this normal?
