I purchased my 12 ex in Austin and am trying to find a service dept closer to home (nw houston). I don't mind driving for better customer service. Anyone have any recs or suggestions? Are all dealerships pretty much the same?

Thanks!

Hey there! Where are you on the northwest side? My friend takes his edge to Planet Ford 45 and things have been okay so far. He hasn't had them do too much to it, but still, no complaints so far.

I haven't heard any awesome recommendations for service departments in our area, but I have heard Tomball Ford isn't that great, FWIW.

If you find a good one, please share :)

Haven't been there but Joe Myers is on the NW side off 290 between bw8 and Jones Rd.

I'm going to do a search on BBB and I'll post my results.

Well, Tomball Ford has the worst rating, an F, with only 9 complaints. Planet Ford 45 and Joe Myers had A+ ratings. Lone Star Ford has an A rating, but the fewest complaints of the A rated dealers.

Those are just the ones closest to me.

i think it's safe to recommend Lone Star Ford after my experiences. i only had one "bad" experience there and that was because of a third party company there. and even at that, the service guy was great and handled it in a very professional manner. the service manager is pretty cool too. i was one of the first ones to get the performance update at that dealership and it went very smooth. if you decide to go there, ask for Michael Turner and tell him Gary with the black explorer sent ya....haha i'm sure he'll remember my EX.

Like everyone, Houston has a ton of dealers so it depends where you are most of the time. Like everyone, I have heard of no awesome dealers, just a numbe of good dealers and service departments.

My Ex came from Joe Myers and I have been back a couple times on small issues. No complaints, went well.

Well that makes me sad, they are my closest dealer. They have been pretty awesome whenever I have dealt with them. Joe Myers wasnt my favorite though, to start it off the salesman was getting mad and rude at us for not accepting the deal immediately without thought, then gave his card and tried to make a dramatic exit .... However Tomball ford in my case has been amazing, they are always willing to accommodate beyond normal. I havent dealt with service too many times, but its been fine when I have had to. Their sales was great though, they sold below sticker, then gave the truck month discount, then gave more than any other dealer for my preowned car. I would recommend Bill Handford for anyone looking for a new car and good deal.

Bought mine from Southern Ford in Pearland... no service there yet but the sale want smooth. I live in Katy and will prob try Champion Ford out here for service sometimes, if anyone has experience at either one let me know.

mraza,Tomball is closest to us also, so I was hoping for a better rating. I guess the good news is that I recall that Tomball had the fewest complaints overall. They were rated down because they had some complaints they never responded to. We'll probably give them a try for an oil change and see how that goes.

Thanks, everyone for the responses!
