How about a trail ride at Windrock in Oliver Springs, Tenn.

Ok the final verdict is that no one is coming with me and im driving by myself(my friend is still thinking on riding shotgun).N2ford is the invitation to sleep in my truck at your house still good.?SO i guess we will just meet at exit 347.Where is shoneys from the exit? Left or right when u get off? Iwas going to bring my video camera but it decided to break 3 days before the trip. I guess there isnt any more last minute discussion. WHat are your phone numbers so i can give you a ring when im near shoneys or the exit? I will be on channel 30 on CB to .See you guys there!!

How about Shoneys around 6:30 eastern time? When you get off exit 347 take a left at the bottom of the ramp. You will have to go past Shoneys on a divided 4 lane and turn around in a cut through. Then come back towards I-40 Shoneys will be on your right. The invitation is still good, you can stay there if you want to. We will plan on meeting for breakfast at 8 on saturday morning. We have a choice of Mcdonalds, Shoneys, Waffle House or Chikfilet. My cell number is 865-310-2083. I am working on getting another cb, only have a hand held right now. Let me know where you want to eat breakfast so I can tell the other people.

Nashville is central time right? So its 5:30 here when its 6:30 there.I think it will be a 3 hour drive. How long would you think?I will go 70 or 80 all the way. I will leave my house at 2 ish. I dont really care where we go to breakfast because i generally dont eat breakfast.

Matt

You are correct on the time except you can make it from the airport area of Nashville in a little over 2 hours depending on the traffic. We will just plan on chikfila in Oak Ridge at 8. Quick breakfast and then to Windrock to get passes. Don't forget to pack food and drink for the trail.

Ok everything sounds good. Ill call if any problems.I will see you there!

Matt

Hopefully next time we can get alot more photos.

Let it be known that the only reason that I left early was to follow the Jeep that lost an alternator. I would have hated to have someone broke on the trail alone. I too had a blast. It was good to meet you Matt. It was kind of a shame that Xploders were out numbered by the Heeps. How about next time we turn the tide? Thanks to N2FORD for putting this ride together. You done good.

Let's do it again! ;)

Oh,i wasnt sure if you had to go or you followed him.Next time i hope to get me and nissanboy on the site up there. Yeah thanks again david for setting this up. Tell me if your interested for the dates of april 9th and 10th. Thats a fri and a sat i believe.

Matt

That is easter weekend, will be tough to go with family and church things happening all weekend. Maybe a early May run? Mustang show in Nashville on the 17th and Shania concert on the 24th. Should we start a thread once we figure a date? Next time we have to get some pictures of the explorers!

Im going back up tomorrow if you guys are interested. Matt

Sorry Matt, did not see this post until saturday night. For some reason I can't get the reply box up on my home computer. Did you go? What trails did you go on and did anyone go with you?

Yeah i went. I drove up sat night did some night wheeling, and wheeled all day sunday and drove home that night. It was my explorer and my friend chads(nissanboy) explorer on 33's. We did all the trails that u showed us and we did trail 8 and some other random trails. We also did some trails off hwy 116 or whatever that is. Do u remember that one hill with all the rocks that we saw the hummers at and i tried it? Well i did it yesterday and i made it all the way up except for like the last 2 rocks i couldnt get over. Iwas soooo close. We got lots of pics and video. I will post them in a post in a week or so. I want to go up there again when i get my front locker in and conquer that trail.By the way they closed the main paved trail so u have to drive around the whole dang park to get out! THat post for the run on easter weekend i couldnt delete and im NOT going up to windrock then. Ive changed my plans and im going to LBL,if you want to go give me a shout. Talk to u later David, Matt

Sounds like a good time. The road going up to the windmills will be closed in different areas for the next 6 months. Look forward to seeing the pictures. How was trail 8? Goatman nad I rode it about a year and half ago on the atv's. Did it come out somewhere or did you turn around and come back. Maybe next time I will come in from the top of 7 and spot you on your way up. Other windrock news is everyone has to buy a permit, even to just be a rider. That kind of sucks, I like to take the kids up and ride around for a couple of hours from time to time.

Trail 8 was kind of scary but fun. There is one part where u have to make a 90 degree turn which is designed for 4 wheelers and me and chad about rolled it there. Also down a little ways from that the trail which is eroded collapsed right when i drove on it, i slid off had 3 wheels on the trail and one in the revene, i layed it on the frame. I had to get chad and two other people to stand on my rear bumper and someone to pus on the right side of my truck. I slowly reversed it and got out. Without my l0cker i would have been in the revene. Chad put a board down to go through it and we went back out the trail because it does dead end. That would be cool if u come up next time and spot trail 7. I had 3 other people there too.I hope to have my front locker in and a BW 1354 manual shift. Im geting tired of the 4405 electronic crap.If u know where i can get one for cheap (BW1354) around there let me know cause im looking around. I only had to buy one pass for me and my friend.I bought it at the gas station, try there first.

I have a manual transfer case out of my explorer. It was ran low on fluid and needs bearings. It does not look that hard to build. The guy (the one that had to be winched out after wetting his dist) in the jeep that went with us is a bearing salesman. I can get you some good deals on the bearings. I will give you the transfer case if you want to build it. I remembered trail 8 was rough. Mike and I came into it from the backside and saw the no tresspassing sign. As far as the passes go it is a new rule, if your passenger is not carrying a pass he could be ticketed for tresspassing.

Hey Guys, Trial 8 huh? Sounds wild. I guess I need to get that limited slip in that rear end so I can get some grip. I'll be waiting for the pics. The trail you were trying to get up and almost made it, was that trail 7? Making that trail would be a feather in the cap.

Are any of you guys going to show up for the Southern Trailfest?

When is that? Is there anykind of plan for rides? I am not sure how well people will get around with all the construction.

Gjarrett- I believe the date was april 30th. Im up for it and it only a 2 hour drive. Can u buy passes the day of? That construction will be a pita.

N2ford- Ill take it. Im going to look through junkyards tom. I talked to the ladie at the gas station and she said u only had to buy one pass per vechicle.

Yeah, it's April 30th, I started another thread here in this forum to ask if anyone else is planning to go. It's the regional SFWDA run so it is a big organized event and you have to pay to attend. Scroll down the link on SFWDA's page to read about it:

I've already registered and plan on being there to show up the J**pers :D
