How big is our gas tank?

How far on a tank then?

Hey there, newbie Explorer owner here. How far can I expect to go on this 19.5/22 gal tank? (When I get her back on the road!) Just curious as I'm coming from a 74 early Bronc with a 351W, w? not so good mileage! Thanks!

I have the factory sticker for my '92 here and it lists a 19 gallon tank as standard equipment.

My 98 XLT 4 door has a 21.4 gallon take from reading the manual

looks like as the years progress the explorer holds more and more fuel, I wonder why. Of course i wish that mine had a 25-30 gallon tank instead of the 22 gallon tank i have now. I want more gas:thumbsup:

Hho.....

rofl, didnt even look under you avatar. yeah i didnt get an owners manual with mine. that is why i was asking, i was thinking it was a 15 gallon tank, but when i ran it dry with the hho kit installed and then refilled the tank, i put 19.75 gallons back in. lol hella different, never put more in then 14/15 gallons.

First Post:
I have been looking at these on the Internets and all of the claims seem to be the same as the acetone claims. (which after many tanks, and discussion w/ my co-workers who had also tried this) seems to not work as well (if at all)with computer controlled ignition as it did with carbeurated (sp) cars. So the theory behind HHO seems legit. and you being a fellow Explorer owner seems a good exapmle. Did you see a significant imoprovement? 10%? 20%? 30%? any improvement at all? did you buy an actual kit for 200$+? did you buy the ebook for 100$ and make it yourself? are you using stainless or graphite for your electrodes? i am interested in trying this, just want to make sure its not all hype. This question is not only directed at the author, also anyone else who has experienced the hho system. Thanks for any response!!

Dang it would be nice if they kept things consistent. My 2000 manual says 21 gallons even.

the most my 92 xlt 4x4 has taken is 19 when I ran out

The perceived capacity can vary greatly depending on the pump you use...

On my way out to truckhaven I managed to really fill up the tank in Yuma, Az (good, low pressure Arizona pump).. When I got to Brawly, Ca (80+ miles away) I had to fight to get 3 gallons in the tank (CA style pumps)

The explorer gets on average 15-16mpg on the freeway, and I had more weight in it than usual..

80 miles and 3 gallons of fuel would be 26mpg. There is no way I got that.. Even at 16mpg I should have been able to fit 5 gallons of fuel in, and I had to fight just to get 3..

That means there was at least a 2-3 gallon difference in perceived tank size due to different pumps.
