I ran 33"s with a 3" body lift and a 2" Torsion Twist (search for TT). I ran Warrior shackles and an add-a-leaf in the rear.

If you have the money, go with a 4" suspension lift. If you want 35"s then add a body lift on top of that.

thanks alot
now another newbie question
whats the cheapest way to lift it 2in

thanks for puttin up with these stupid questions but I will learn more and will come back with better ones:D

Zac

thanks mascman
ignore my last post

Are you mechanically inclined Zac? If so I would do a 3" body lift and only crank the torsion bars 1" with Warrior shackles in the rear. You should clear 32x11.50s. It would ride better and look just as good. If you overlift with the TT is puts your CVs at a bad angle.
Here is a pic with 33s...32s would look just as good. IMO

I am only 17 but I would say I am mechanically inclined I have a jeep wagoneer that I completly rebuilt (engine suspension axles transfercase ds and interior) I have only done suspension lifts before but I am willing to try a body lift. what is involved(I know the blocks between the body and frame but besides that what is involved)? will I need to lower transfer case or anything like that?
thanks for your guys help this site is awesome!

mascman with ur body lift did it mess up your bumper a lot or not? and how much did it cost u. ive been thinkin bout 3 inch add a leafs in the back and 3 inch spindle sin the front but if there is anything cheaper out there i would like ot hear about that. but i also want to be able to fit 33's

The body lift blocks came off my S-10 Blazer...the lift was less than $100.

I made the brackets to raise both bumpers and to lower the radiator.

I also made a dual U-joint steering shaft by cutting the stock shaft and adding a U-joint from www.McMaster.com. I added it near the top of the shaft. This eliminates any binding.

r shackles a body lift? and what sizes to add a leafs come in? i want a lift for my rear but i dont want a body lift. i ahve a 97 2wd explorer

Hey Zac i'm from Oak Ridge about 20min away. I'm also 17. Check out jcwhitney they have some body lifts

If you use leafs in the rear, you'll have to use spindles in the front of your 2wd. I believe I've seen a 3" lift spindle. You could do a Torsion Twist for an extra inch and use something like a Superlift 4" leaf pack.

If you want to clear 33"s you'll still need more lift...that's where the body lift comes in. I had 5" when I had 33"s and they still rubbed slightly.

Now with 8" in the front my 35's rub a little, too.

I would think you could run 32"s with some trimming if needed with the 4" lift.

Sorry to butt in on ur post but I have a related ? and I dont know how to start a new post. I have a 97 exp sport 4x4 and i have done a TT and shackels to equal 2 inches all around. I want that extra 3 inches though and I understand the add a leaf in the back, but up front how would I do that in a 4x4. Spindles???or is there any other way for a realatively good price? Sorry for the long post

spindles dont work on 4x4. You can get the extra 3inches by doing a body lift..

alright cool I know u probably thought what a dumb ass but im learning.. Now with the bl what brands do u suggest and about how much do they run?? is it easy to do with me and a couple of friends?

1 MORE ? Do you have any pictures of your truck or any trucks with that kind of setup because if i do the bl that is the setup ill be running
2 inch tt and warrior shackles plus the 3 inch bl and 31 bfg alt

heres mine with 3inch bl/aal/2inch tt/warrior shackels and 31/10.5/15 bfg AT's
