I need to replace my antenna cable, how in the heck do I get to underneath the antenna?
I tried going thru the little access door for the wiper arm but I can't get far enough back.

am I missing something?

What if you removed the quarter panel?

I know the antenna goes right in next to the windshield on teh cowl area, but I'm wondering if you removed the quarter panel would you have easier access to it?

nope.

I removed the inner wheel well plastic and it not accessible from there, even if the whole fender was removed.

I would think there is a nut located on top of the antennae mount (or maybe underneath the antennae base) that unscrews from the top and allows you to remove the antennae from the top. You could also check with crutchfield.com and see if they have link to instructions for an antennae install.

There is a cap that comes off the top of the base that pops off, then three screws, then the whole antenna base comes out of the top, but I need to access the bottom side of it.

Thanks for the ideas thou guys.

Open the glovebox, squeeze the sides together and allow it to totally drop freely.

You will see the cable on the upper right hand side. Once the antenna is unbolted from the cowl panel, it should pull right out.

I have the same problem with my 93 Explorer - I need to pull the factory cable out. Something seems to be holding it from feeding through the access hole in the firewall. Any ideas before I have to pull of the dashboard??

Ok... Got the factory cable out with a good pull with a set of pliers. Tied a string to the end before I did that, yet now, can't seem to feed the new antenna cable back through even though the end is through the hole in the firewall. There is some "play", but it seems to be stuck somewhere. Really don't want to go through the whole pull the dash out thing. Any suggestions on getting the new antenna cable ran through would greatly help!
