Just ordered my new 07XLT with the 6CD radio.
It comes with an auxiliary audio input port.
Can I hook up an Ipod here or do I need to get an adapter for the back of the radio?

Dude just get the fm modulator that charges your Ipod at the same time. 1 thing if you use 1 of those rubber cases, dont charge your Ipod with it on there. Apple told me this, as mine was'nt working.

what kind of port is it?...yes you can it is jsut a matterof what ending...if it is two mini plugs gen an 1/8" jack to two mini jacks if it is 2 1/8" or 1/4" (i cant remember the headphone size ) then do that but it is relativly simple. If you get an I-trip they dont sound all that great. Go with a straight plug into the radio.

Just plug a 1/8" male to male mini jack cable from the Ipod headphone port to the aux jack on the radio & your done. Easy. You can control the volume from the ipod also. You don'tt get charging, but you can get a car charger.
DO NOT use an FM modulator. You will get bad sound & there's no need to waste $$ since you already have a factory way of connecting the ipod.
If you want to get more involved there are companys that make ipod adpaters that plug into the back of the stock HU & intergrate the Iopd to the factory radio. You get charging & direct Ipod connection with track control & playlists.

Thanks for the replies.
I will try the male to male from the headphone port and look into an adapter from the back of the radio.
Hopefully the Explorer gets here soon.
Who actually makes the radio?
Is there a model number so I can look up adapters?
