How can I tell if I have a remote key fob module?

I have a 2007 explorer xlt. it does not have an exterior key pad or a key hole in any door other than the drivers door. It has a small blinking red light on the top of the dash but they dealer said all explorers this year have that regardless of whether they have remote door opening or not. It has power door locks.

Other than taking it to a dealer, is there any way to know for certain if it has the module for a remote key fob to open the doors?

Follow steps 1 thru 5 and see if the doors lock and unlock. If nothing happens you don't have remote keyless entry.

Thank you very much for the info. The locks do go up and down when I do the procedure you posted so it looks like I have the key fob module and just need to get a key fob.
