I searched and found nothing. It seems like the 05 model year is being hated on. I cant find a single CAI for an 05 explorer...or a straight pipe exhaust kit. But does anyone have any solutions on a CAI for my explorer. Sorry if this has been posted but I couldn't find anything.

-Thanks

tell me this and i'll look around at what i know:
it's a 2005 right?
what style engine? ohv or sohc? and what size v6 or v8?

looks like that will work, BUT, no heat shield = poo

so just make your own. A lot of the users on here run the KKM on the v8 and either dont bother or just fab their own.

hmmm wonder if the k&n for 04 works in the 06-08s if the KKM is for 04-08

There is no intake for the 04 with the v6 that he has..

I've been in contact with K&N, they said if enough people seemed interested they would send it to their Research & Development team to start production. I posted @ http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218167 - Please view and read how you can help. Remember to post a reply when you filled it out so I can keep track on how many I have, thanks..

I have a 05 also and I think that it is kind of silly that the intake is right behind the head lights. I am thinking about cutting a hole in the bottom of the air box and making my own cold air to run to the wheel well or bottom of the truck. Does anyone know or has anyone ever just strapped a k&n cone filter to the intake and elimanate the air box all together?

ringpop1,
I am eliminating the whole box it self tomorrow, I got a cone filter and a new adapter that comes off of the MAF, it is ten times cheaper just to make your own as long as you can find the adapter. AutoZone sells them on their site.
