How do I determine a V6 SOHC from a Regular OHC V6?
I'm about to buy a 98 Explorer and I just want to make sure what the sell is talking about or the seller is not fooling me that: "Yes, this is a Explorer Sport SOHC V6."

Thanks much!

The plastic cover over the injector assembly and TB on the SOHC motor will say SOHC.

Good luck....

And if someone removed the cover that says SOHC, there is a sticker on top of the rad that shows the drivebelts. It will say "SOHC drive belt routing"

To clarify, the motors are the older 4.0 V6 160 hp OHV, and the newer 4.0 V6 205-210 hp SOHC.

The OHV says 4.0 EFI on the top, and the intake tube goes into the motor at a 90 deg angle to the front of the truck.

The SOHC says 4.0 SOHC on the top, and the intake tbe goes into the motor at more of an irregular angle.

Thank all.
I got the 98 Explorer Sport V6 OHV :)
Please read my other Dead Link Removed and give me advices on how to make the OHV perform better and last longer.

Once again,
Thank you!
