How do I know if I have a keyless entry system? What do I check?

hi, i've bought explorer 1998 xlt 4.0 sohc, but i don't know if it has a key-less system or not.. how to check that, and if it is equipped can i configure a any transmitter or it should be the explorer's one ,and thank you....

If you have keyless entry, wouldnt there be a keypad on the drivers door?

This is used to program the remotes but can be used to see if you have the keyless entry.

1) Sit in your explorer with it unlocked.
2) Turn the key off and on 8 times within 10 seconds.

If the power locks lock and then unlock you have the keyless entry module, if they dont then your explorer doesn't have keyless entry.
