how do i know if my motor is SOHC

i have a 95 xlt and was wondering how to know if it is a SOHC motor or not? I know this is a stupid question.

Mine says it right under the hood.
 






You've got the 4.0 OHV. the SOHC was introduced in 97. you should have a 4.0 as the v8 came into play in 1996 (im pretty sure anyway)
 












that means you have the v6 OHV
 






The EFI stands for Electronically Fuel Injected .......... I think.
 


















Your vin # tells the whole story of your vehicle. The 8th digit is your engine type: Dead Link Removed

yep if you have the X its a ohv and the E is the SOHC i believe
 






Yep, VIN number, or as stated before just open the hood and you'll see SOHC on there.
 






HA how many people to tell what his motor is. HA all 1991-2001 had the base motor of the 4.0 OHV, in 1996 the 5.0 V* was introducted through 2001 and in 1997 the 4.0 SOHC wsa introduced and is still used today. The V8's in the 2002 and up models are the 4.6 2 valve, untill the 4 gen which have 3 valves i believe... And EFI stands for Electronic Fuel Injection..
