I have a 95 XLT 4x4 Explorer with 140K miles on it.

Recently, the right side of the dash has not been lit up at night (I do not drive it much when its dark outside). This is the area where the speedo, tach and gauges are located - the right half, where the gauges are is the part that is in the dark right now. The other side (left) of this area lights up just fine.

It looks like theres a bulb behind the instrument panel.

Anyone know how to get to this bulb? Is it something I can replace myself? Is the bulb avaialble at an auto parts store or do I have to get it from the dealer? Is it expensive? Is this an easy job, or will it take lots of time to remove everything to get to it?

Any help from those that have replaced the bulbs on their dashes on 95+ year Explorers would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you referred to a Haynes manual? Last time I checked, it explained everything perfectly.

Haynes manual

I hope the Haynes manual is better than the Chilton's manual. Chilton's is good for a cat box liner and thats about all!
