A have the rear axel apart with the exception of the bearing in the axle shate housing, the ones located near the tire , and I can figure out how to remove shims. There are notices on each side I prided at one andbusted it. Do they pull out. O yea and I dont have a slide hammer

You need a slide hammer to do it. Because of the thickness of the bearing, you can't just pry them out. If you do that, you may damage the axle housing and cause a permanant oil leak.

Oh yeah, what's an axle shate??? :bounce: :p

a meant shaft. Well how do shims come out>They heald the main gear in (the biggest one) and I think I just pulled. But I can't get them off the two endsof the largest gear to repack the bearings.Howdo you remove them? The Haynes doesn't say. It just show that they come off
