On a 94? I see where they are located, but how do you get the old ones off & the new ones on?

Thanks

Has no one replaced these themselves?

OH sorry sure I have replaced them, too many times. :) hahaha

OKay they can be a PITA, basically they just are stuck.

Why do you want to replace them? To save some $$$ on the alignment?
What I am getting at is if you need to pull them out and then put them back, meaning you are not adding lift or anything, if you do it right you dont need to re-align.
You will want to mark their position before removing them. Basically clean up the area, mark a dot on the shim and a dot on the beam so the dots line up.

Now loosen the pinch bolt, you can pull it out completely.
Spray a BUNCH of liquid wrench or whatever on the shim, around the shim etc.
Now you want a BIG pair of channel locks, a big wrench that fits the shim, a coupld of flathead screwdrivers, hammer, and of course the O ring snap pliers.

Okay first off pull the O ring off the top of the ball joint stud.
now take your large flathead screw driver and pound it down into the crack where the pinch bolt was.
This will hopefully spread the knuckle apart a little bit and allow you to rotate the shim.
Rotate the shim so the ball joint stud is pointed towards the top of the tire (this makes it easier)
Now its just a matter of turning the shim back and forth slightly with the channel locks as you pull it up. You might need to pry on the lip of it a little with the screw driver.
They can be pretty pesky, espeically if they have been in there for years, but they do come up and out.

Before installing the new shim clean everything up, wire brush works well.
You can now eyeball the camber when you put the new shims in, at least enough to get you down tot he alignment shop. If you use a tape meausre at the top and bottom of the tires you can get the camber pretty damn close yourself.

Reinstall the new shim, rotate it so the camber is where you want it, re-install the pinch bolt and tighten that sucker down pretty good, re-install teh O ring on the balljoint stud.
I have had shims rotate on me because the shop didnt torque the pinch bolt enough, that sucks, so get it tight :)

Hope that helps!

Those shims can be just about stuck on there. Use lots of penetrant...
