How good are Sony Xplodes

I was thinking about buying some 5x7 and was wondering how good they are. or if you know any other 5x7 for $65 that would be cool.

sony speakers and amps are pretty crappy. the headunits are good. but the rest is like a waste of money. pioneer, kenwood, blaupunkt, and rockford fosgate 6X8's are in that price range and will sound much better.

I just bought some 5x7 from crutchfield. They are great. Blaupunkt model PCxt573 Pro componets. and i also bought 5 1/4 for the front blaupunkt model PCxi542. They are great

I put pioneer 6x8's in all my doors and they sound awsome. I would have to agree with the sony stuff, I have a sony head and it's pretty damn nice for only 200 bucks, but everything else is pretty crappy.

I dunno about cheaper 5x7s, but my dad just put some nice xPlod 6x9s in his old FJ40, and they sound awesome. weatherproof too.

back when i had my firebird, I put in some Pioneer 6x9s and returned them the next day because I thought they sounded terrible.. then I put in some sony's.

hey.... i have a stock system that im looking to replace...im liking the sound of the kenwood excelon and the 10'' amplified thunderform....aside from this does anyone have preference on front/rear spkrs to go with or what sounds good for an all around system? id like to keep it under a grand. thanks
