Is it a hard job to replace u-joints on a 1st generation Explorer and how many of these u-joints do I need, it only looks like one for the front of the drive shaft.

its not that hard, at least the ones i have replaced before. and you should have two joints. one at the transmission output and one at the axle.

i tried typing up how i do it but it would only confuse you, hell i know how to do it and it confused me:confused: :) .

it is easier to show or tell you in person.

basically you need a work bench vice, channel lock pliers, needle nose pliers, two sockets one large enought to fit over the area the cap is in and one small socket to fit in the loop the caps are pressed in.

hope this helps some.

thanks guys

Thanks for responding back:D
