Hey all new to the site and this is our first explorer. have owned the big brother until my wife was taken out by a quad cab dakota :roll:
we purchased a VW passat as a replacment for the BigX and just recently decided to replace the VW (134,000 on the clock) after owning for 2 years. We set out to get an edge or flex or CX-9 family truckster but money was an issue.
We happened across the Explorer and decided that it was the one. Now after having the VW this is not nearly as sporty, the passat had the W8 4.0 8Cylinder in it and it scooted along it was also top of the line in 03 so it had everything. Our X has the 4.0 liter which is fine for power although I kicking around the idea of a super charger. I would like to lower it and give it the 05 lightning concept look. Oh yeah I had a 93 lightning 3 years ago until a cop pulled out in front a some causing them to hit me head on :roll:
anyway I have looked and it seems the for the latest X there isn't much to be had or many people modifying them, is this true and if so why not? If I missing something please someone point me in the right direction. thanks.
