How much do you pay to insure your xploder?

I didn't bother to read if someone had posted this yet, but for those of you who have State Farm (I know they do this, but others may as well) you might want to check on the multiple lien discount. When I was 16, I was paying $150 to $180 a month for a Honda Accord. My agent told me that if I took out a $6 a month life insurance policy that I would save around $40 a month because of the multiple lien discount.

Right now I am paying about $105 a month total for renter's insurance, life insurance, and car insurance on my '97 EB (I'm 21). I had to get renter's insurance because life insurance doesn't count for the discount in Texas (it does in Arkansas).

So call your agents and ask about it...it might save you some cash. It's also nice to pay $6 a month for a $50,000 life insurance policy...

$130 / month covers my Escort (liability only) and the Ex (full coverage). The Ex is not expensive to insure. I priced cost for a new Stang GT - $1,700/yr even with the multi car discount, basically doubling my current payment. I'm 33 and married, no accidents or tickets last 5yrs+. It's NY. Second higest insurance rates in the country after New Jersey. If you are in NYC, it's even worse (sorry sideswipe)

I know all too well! I luv NY, and I hate NY....ugghh

It's amazing how much insurance can differ in price from one place to another. Check this out: In Michigan, USAA, full coverage, $500 deductible=$300 every 6 months. When I move back to CA, the same insurance will be $900 every 6 months! I have an accident that will be off my record in December, which will drop my rates, but geez, what a huge price jump. Oh well, it's worth it. :D

peace

Mike

I've got USAA, 25, single, college student, clean records, pay 145 for 6 months for basic coverage for Texas. Might go full coverage when I get into the real world

Wow! looks like everbody pays a lot for their insurance...... I'm with State Farm and pay $326.00 every six months - that's full coverage.....

I guess it's not bad.

;)

Verification of Royal Screwing

I didn't see anyone post from New Jersey so I figured I'd make everyone else feel better...
I have a 91 XLT with alarm and garage. I'm 28 y/o with no accidents and 4 pts on my license and 11 pts on my insurance.
OK---Hold on to your hats...
For basic liability (the bare minimum) I paid $4800 last year. That is not a typo.

NJ and Hawaii are the highest in the USA. There are 65% less insurance providers available here compared to the national average. I HATE IT HERE!!!
:chug:

you know, here in IL about 10 years ago when I was still "young and stupid" :) I once paid $3000.00 for the first year for insuring a brand new Audi A6 ... and back then I had a case of driving on a suspended license and an accident. $4800.00 is a ripoff.........

I've seen prices like that for full coverage, but just basic liability....... (INSURER) :shoot:

NYC area s..ks

I pay 2200 a year full coverage in hudson county, NJ one of the highest areas in the country...

1000 per year, full coverage, 1000 deductible, 1 ticket, 0 Accidents, 20 yrs old College Student. Liberty Mutual

Red Tape B.S.

I let my coverage run out before I renewed it being that I was travelling 25 days out of the month. Here in lies the catch...If you don't renew your coverage before it expires....NO ONE will insure you. That was the cheapest I found of the 3(three) agencies within 50 miles that would even consider insuring me.....
----again "I Hate this state"

$59 bucks a month State Farm Ins. Use to have Geico what a rip. Saved 200 bucks every six months going with state farm.

I pay $94 a mo., and that is for the ST and a '00 Altima, I am 27, married. That is for coverage through USAA and I am military, living and commuting on base. Not to mention, because we have armed guards on base, it is considered; 'secured parking'... is:p Talk about lucky! My insurance was $200 in San Angelo Texas on a stripped 4x2 '94 Ranger!!

Oh Yeah...

I also have defensive driver certification and a military drivers license....A Lot of good it did me!!!
