I just joined the forum and reviewed alot on the site. I was very impressed. I want to lift my "01 sport. Whats the best way to go about this? I want to be able to fit 35" tires on it.

well you could try searching...but anyway. a TT shackels AAL(if you have rear end sag) a 3 inch BL would be the cheapest route. THen you trim the fenders. If you want a bit more expensive look into the superlift(it is 1500 bucks ). Then convert the rear to SOA(spring over axle) and TT the front for an all aound lift of 6 inches that should clear 35's with only the minorist of trimmings.

If you go the first route the body lift is about 120$ the shackels are 55$ the TT is free and an AAL is 30$.
here is a good threadon fitting 35's

the real thing to worry about is gears though.

01 lift

Thank you for your quick reply, I want it to be a good quality lift, so maybe the superlift is the way i will go, now i just have to find that, I have a manual transmission, how should i rework the gears?

with 35's you'll want atleast 4.56's if not 4.88's or 5.13's. a good meduim would be the 4.88's. i'm running 5.13's with 35's and a manual tranny on mine. but u have the sohc so u have a bit more power. so 4.88's or atleast the 4.56's should work fine. and if u plan on offroading it you'll probably want a locker or two or alteast a good limited slip (trutrac)

01 lift

Again thank you for your reply. Is there a certain model number for that superlift? Should I look on line or could I just go into a truck performace shop? Also thank you for sending that thread. That was informative. I appreciate you answering my ?'s. This is all new to me so I am wanting to learn a lot.

i have seen them online. But a local truck performence shop should have part #'s. If you are having a shop install it then they should have the #'s or you could call superlift.

01 sport lift

Now I do not have a 4x4 drive. Will that matter? I still want to lift it though. I saw Matthew Lalonde's 01 Explorer and his looked great. I do not think he had 4x4 drive.

well if you said that you had 2wd.....it is so much easier and cheaper to lift 2wd. You can do a 3 inch spindle lift in the front do a 3inch TT Convert the rear to SOA then if you still want more you can toss on a 3inch BL that will clear 35's.
here is xplorerkid's he has 37's

as for the superlift i read on the superlift site that it was for 4wd only

it will work on a 2wd as well, i would do the 3 inch spindle and then a 3 inch torsion twist. The superlift kit actually drops down the suspension to achieve the lift. depends on what u want to do. good luck

i have an 01 sport with 3" TT, double Add A Leaf, Shackles, and a 3" Body Lift, i have done minor bumper trimming and i still rub turning my 33s full stuff ,offroad, it would take a lot of trimming to fit 35"s with only that lift, i agree with the others in saying 3"tt 3" lift spindles and SOA( Spring over axle) conversion and maybe a 2" body lift is the route for you, PM me for more info
