I got one for you guys. I have been trying to research this but didnt find anything helpful. I have 2 audiobahn 10" flame q subs which run 900 watts RMS each. What kind of amp and how much power should be run to them. Right now i have a lightning audio amp and they hit ok but are underpowered. Any advice for me? Good places to get an amp online and model numbers would be cool too. Thanks

Please be patient and wait at least a day before bumping a thread. This site has many members and lots of traffic, but getting ancy after 15 minutes is rediculous.

my budget is around $500 or so. Sorry usually people respond right away. Im trying to get stuff ordered today so I can have it by mid next week.

by this time it doesnt matter if you order it now or online at midnight..its still goin out tomorrow...look around on crutchfield for amps and their output, then go search around for a good price...

fair warning though, buying car audio at cut rate prices on the net = no factory warranty. make sure the seller will agree to repair it for a length of time equal to that of the factory warranty

yeah i know i need it to go out tomorrow, i wont have time to order tomorrow. What exactly should i look for in the output. Thats what im trying to figure out. What kind of numbers should i be looking for

It is not always neccessary to mach watt for watt. it more depends on the quality of amp you purchase. and remember amps have rms too. try to mach the combined rms of the subs with that of the amp. some good names are: kenwood, adiobahn, sony, and phoenix gold.

good luck!

A1500HCQ Amplifier - 2000x1 @ 1ohm (watts) More Information $ 999.99 $449.99

Run the coils and subs in parallel, and you'll put 1000watts into each sub... thats right were you want to be and in your price range. I installed the same amp for a friend (year befores model, only cosmetic differences) and it will supply ample power to almost anything you hook up to it ;)

You want an amp that puts out 1600-2000 watts. A 1 ohm stable mono amp is your best bet. I like the amp nweibley posted, it will do the job well.

audiobahn amps are way overrated.. Plus once you get that 2000w mono amp, you're gonna have to spend a couple hundred atleast on your electrical system so that you can push that much power without frying your alternator.

It all depends what you are looking for. I have been running a 1206q for a while now which is 1100rms and 2200max and have only been pushing it with 325w and have been very happy. I am just now replacing that with the Sony XM-D1000P5 P5 Mono Amp. It is by no means the best amp in the world, but, it is like 900-1000w at 2 ohm which is much more power than I am used to. If you are wanting to be in competition, then get something higher end, if you are doing it just for everyday listening and like some bass, you could go that route. Especially at about $150 brand new on eBay.

Then again I think Audiobahn amps are good. I have only heard good things about them. For about $350 you can get the Audiobahn A1300HCT which would push those subs very nicely and would keep the whole flame design going. :D Just my .01.
