I am gonna put my Explorer up for sale locally and was just wondering where I should be price wise?

It has an R title!, but is very well repaired. Heres the stats
2000 Explorer Sport
4.0 OHV, 158,000 miles, power everything (including sunroof), all new rear brakes including the ebrake shoes. New front wheel bearing/hub assembly. 17" mustang Bullitt wheels, 4x4, inspected until December 2011 and will pass again with just tires.

So what do you guys thing? I dont wanna give it away, But im not looking to get rich either.

Here is the only pic I have right now, but it has all matching wheels and is cleaner now :)

The KBB value in good condition is 2200, but that would include matching tires with good tread left. So I guess you'd be looking somewhere around that area.

What is an R title?

Reconstructed as in totaled and rebuilt. The value will be less then the blue book value.

Drive it down to Florida - sell it for five grand.

If I had a buyer at that price I would deliver it! LOL
I think I may have it sold for $1500. Guy at work just started and needs some wheels. Said in two weeks if I still have it, he will take it.

If you were around in MI, it would probably go for $1800 max, then they'd show up with like $1400.

They definitely dont go for what theyre worth :(

I just got 1800 bucks for mine...a '97 fully loaded XLT SOHC, leather, with 137k.
Super clean cosmetically, but needs some odds and ends taken care of.
Took me by surprise.

Honestly for the prices that we get the trucks for they really are still in good condition and super easy to fix everything. I'm surprised that they go for so cheap.

Typically R title vehicles are valued at 50% of the book value. I stay away from most like theyre the plague lol

If everything is in good condition, just KBB it and divide it by 2. Thats a good starting point.

Under normal circumstances, I avoid them too. Fortuneately, I am in good with the guys at the scrap yard that rebuilt it. It had NO frame damage and body damage was minimal. The air bags are more or less the reason that it was totaled.

The biggest issue with the Ex's are that they are a dime a dozen, and very abundant.

Exactly. They're the 5.0 Fox Mustang of the SUV world basically.

Reminds me of a Mustang joke - a guy walks into a bar....J/K

What do Mustangs and tampons have in common? ROFLMAO
