How much money do places charge for a suspension lift installation? I was going to lift my explorer (2000 XLT) with a 4" trailmaster lift, but the guy got a new job and doesn't have access do a shop anymore. So, I was just trying to get some ideas. Thanks

Alright. Thanks - I think it might be a little bit more here in VA, but I'm not exactly sure. But thank you for the input

Yeah I know, but I already got the trailmaster lift. A lot cheaper for me. Got a full suspension lift for about 600 bucks. Instead of spendin 1300 for the superlift.

Yes, lack of 4x4 shops is gonna kill ya here. "4WD Specialty" on Broad is incredibly expensive!!!! They will do it, but you will pay dearly for it.

You may want to try to contact http://www.independent4x.com/, and see if they can help. They are mainly into Izuzus, but they might be able to help.

Other than those two places, I don't know of anyone around here that would even put a lift on an Explorer.

Good Luck!

You can also call Thurston Spring, ask for Aubry. There is a shop in Petersburg, but I don't know the name. You may want to check with Iles4ever, he may be interested in doing the work.

UNCLEMEAT- Who is this guy that you said may be interested in it? I searched his name on the boards, but it came up invalid (his name). But yeah, I got to get around and look at a few places

ROBB- I remember I went to 4wd Speacilty looking for a lift kit and installation and they were asking for about 3 grand for the superlift kit/installation. I was amazed. I might call them up and see how much they charge. I found the superlift kit online for like 1,500 - so if they are chargin 1,500 for installation - thats insane.

But thanks for the input. This will easily help me out.

Can't even spell my name right, damn man! Haha. Finding a 4x4 shop in richmond to do a lift for a deciend price is impossible. 4wheel drive specalties on broad will charge you like 1000-1500, and ashland hitch will probably charge 1000. I'd be more than happy to do it, but time is a factor. I've never lifted a newer gen explorer. I did just finished up a 98 F150 that came out real nice (had to custom make a bunch of parts), but it took a long time. Shoot me a PM if your interested.

Chris

I never could spell very good. 4-Wheel drive specialties did my lift, Superlift 5.5 about $1500. I had two other bids and they were about the same, and they are close to home. They are very expensive if they supply parts retail + 25%. Their labor rate is lower than most shops.
