how often do you wax your X

How often do you wax your X and what do you use?

I wax mine monthly and use a new polymer wax/glaze, it is really awesome stuff. It is the same stuff that the Penske Racing Team uses on their cars, I never thought that it would be all that great, but it is better than anything I have ever tried....Zaino, Meguiars High Tech Yellow, 3M etc.

well after using a clay bar probabably never that thing is awesome... i used to wax my vehicles every 2 to 4. i guess i still will.

Ahh, maybe once a year, seems to be enough, the paint still looks really good after 13 years. The dents and dings, and rust dont, but the paint is in great shape. (the original paint, the repairs are a little ragged)

I'm sorry, but there's not enough wax in my ears to cover the truck!

In the 3 years I've had my X, not once have I waxed it.
But, I guess it used to get some wax from taking it to the carwash places back when it was stock.

I agree. Clay bars are awesome. However, I thought you had to follow claying with waxing? A clay bar strips everything -- including the wax.

Back to the subject. I Zymol mine twice a year. I might to go that Meguires new spray on wet, wipe off stuff in between.

Turtle Wax about every 3 months. The pollen is bad in the spring, sand and salt is bad during the summer, dirt and mud is bad during the fall in the mts, and salt is bad during the winter. 4 bad seasons, 4 waxings...

I try to wax mine every other time I wash my truck but it sure is a pain trying to get the roof, and my paint job sucks. I'm wanting to get it repainted if my brother will ever learn how to paint

I try not to over do it... twice a year, spring and fall is enough. Spring - after all the salt.... and fall to protect it from the elements.

about 2-4 months. I try to keep a semi-heavy coat on it, cause you always see where the clear coat has been baked off a lot of late models. The top of an X is a lot of space for the sun to bake on, and I don't wanna have to paint it anytime soon.

Have never waxed my Explorer. As soon as I get it repainted...again...I will probably start washing and waxing it on a regular basis. Maybe I can wash that big target off of it. Damn thing keeps getting hit, doesn't matter where I park it. :frustrate

Try to get it done everymonth. I live near one of the most poluting power plants on the easy coast so we get hit with acid raing badly. I alternate between Colored Turtle Wax and Meguirs Cleaner Wax. Clay bar it every now and again. And use Meguirs Quick Wax in between.

Okay so is it bad to wax very often? I have been waxing mine pretty much every other time I wash it, which comes out to one wax every 3 weeks. Guess I have to make up for the six months out of the year when I am at school and don't even so much as wash it. It takes a lot to get that 10 year old paintjob looking good!

Woooo!!! I wax mine whenever it's sunny outside!! duhh So basically, never in the winter or fall, but lots in the late spring and summer! I use Zaino or Meguires Cleaner Wax (& tried Eagle1 sample before and liked it, but can't find it in stores out here). I also use some 20 year old Turtle Wax if I forget to bring my own wax down to my parents' Remember Turtle Wax used to be actually GREEN, like a turtle?! LoL
