How often for a Car Wash

The reason all the washes are laser washes in Alaska is the same reason they are in Ocean City. Nothing touches the car, so it can't spread salt or sand across the paint. Carwashes would be out of business in Alaska if they were regular soft cloth because they'd be cleaning them half the time, and easing furious customers the rest of the time.

Well I was shocked this past year when I caused a comotion at a car wash. It was a free wash with fill. I spend about 250.00 a month on gas. I had never been to this gas station and they were promoting their new car wash. Well I got to where I could see inside the car wash and it was cloth. DANG!!!! I looked behind me and there was a line of cars.

I sat there contemplating my options and the potential hazard to all of my window visors and bug shield etc. I got out and looked around, Crud I was blocked in. Cars were honking and the attendants voice came across the speaker "Go Inside sir" My response "Nope, Can you turn it off and open the rear door? I don't want wash!" Basically the answer was No!

I asked the car behind me to back up a bit. I locked my hubs and drove over the curb, landscaping and shrubs. All new shrubs were ripped up or plowed over. It was a big fiasco and they wanted me to pay for it. Manager said he could have opened the rear door and shut it down. Unfortunately he wasn't there when I was told they couldn't co that, IDIOTS. I didn't pay becasue I could have damaged aftermarket stuff and it wasn't posted that it was a cloth wash.

My wife says that is why she doesn't like to go places with me for fear that something like this will happen and she would be embarassed. I like to challenge the system and always question things. I someone says I have to do something, well then lets see if I really do or if you just want me to. Sometimes its just a lot of fun to terrorize my wife with the thought that I will make a scene. HEHEHEHEHe!!

See, it is a funny story. I tell my wife at least I'm not boring.

I have a habit of sending my steaks back because they aren't cooked the way I asked. My wife tries her hardest to stop me from doing it, but hey I asked for a well done steak and its Freaken bloody. They usually burn it and it comes back to me when we are done eating our other food. I warn the waitress always that I will send it back if it's not well done. A few times it came the way I asked but I would say 90% of the time it doesn't.

even though i work at a car wash and every car wash is different. i can see why you wouldn't want to go through but the rain guards and bug guards RARELY fall off in the wash (mainly because they weren't put on properly)

My deal was I just don't like the cloth car washes. They are rougher on the car, well at least to me they are.

My wife won't even go into any kind of car wash now. I think it was Christmas day she ran to Convenience store for something and decided to run through the carf wash.

1 1/2 hrs later I get a call she was stuck in the car wash and the front or rear doors wouldn't open. She had been sitting there for over a half hour wondering what to do and not look stupid. I just laughed. and manually opened the front door when I got there. I snapped a few pics as well.

LOL, I have a way of causing a scene when I feel I've been mistreated etc as well.

My wife doesn't understand either. She'd rather just sit there and pay for something regardless of whether or not it is satisfactory. We have these maids that clean our house, and she and I constantly argue about them. They do a crappy job, I want to fire them, she doesn't.

I guess you could say I'm a tough guy to work for ;) If you do a good job for me though, I'm eternally greateful...

Cleans Up Nice!

I'm not the most particular guy when it comes to keeping my ride clean, but . . . with all the salt they've been spreading on the roads around Pittsburgh lately, my '97 X was looking downright GROSS:eek: The only surfaces not coated with salt crud were the front windshield wiper-swept area, headlights/tail lights (I AM **** about keeping those clean), side mirrors and front windows. Hard to tell it was red!

So I went to the self carwash, popped the quarters in and found the paint to be intact. Looked nice. I thought WTF, it may not be this clean 'til spring, so I spent the evening putting on a coat of wax! Hey! Cleaned up real nice!:)

Let's see - Weather Channel says 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow. Damn, gonna have to do again some day!
