How old is your battery ?

Its only a few months old cause i knocked a hole in mine.

I was putting it back in after that motor swap and had to have a stepstool to get it in the truck. Well i got it up there and the stupid stool came out from under me. Me and the battery so hard on the floor on top of a bunch of tools.

wow do i feel like a moron! i went and looked at my battery and turns out isnt the original battery but for the 5 or 6 years ive had the truck it hasnt been replaced. hmm...

My last battery was from 98. I just replaced it last weekend. So, thats 9 years. It was going good up till about a month ago, when it started dieing randomly over night.

This is no surprise...

Get an Optima and don't worry about it; they last for years and years.

Many, including me, consider Optima batteries the best.

The Die Hard is not able to hold up anymore... it is only nearly 5, but stressed due to mods.

The Optima will be installed tomrw. The gent doing the motor mods said the above gentleman is 100% correct. (This is off topic, but he is correct about the Autolites  Well, thank you Aldive :)

Still have the original on my 99 with 95,000 miles. Starting to die though

MOTORCRAFT batteries, in the past, were AWESOME. Really. I used to work at Advance Auto and we would get Motorcraft batteries that were 10 years old. GM? Half of that, MAX. What do you expect? GM is JUNK, period.

I was told by an engineer that the reason Motorcraft batteries lasted so long was because they weren't manufactured using smelted, or recycled lead. They used PURE lead, which inherently lasts longer.

Still have the original in my 2000, 130 000k, and it's still good -- I always thought 5 years for a good battery, but hey. :)

i still got the original motorcraft battery in my 01 sport, got 109,x.. still starts right up. its been kept outside for the first 3 years then garage heated till now. i'm amazed!!!:D

up until last year i had the origonal motorcraft battery in my 97 mounty with 125*** miles on it. TEN YEARS OLD ;)
