Actually, I have seen a minivan beat a ricer at the track. It even had a baby seat attached to one of the seats when the guy ran it.

What about that old Dodge Minivan I'm sure people on here have heard of or seen. I have a video of it running 11's and absolutley destroying an LS1 Camaro.

Tbomb - that Saleen Thunderbird is comming out this year, actually looks pretty sweet. Comes in 2 versions, n/a with some goodies and supercharged with goodies , the latter has 400hp. I saw a picture of a black one that looked really sweet.

Saleen- i have that video somewere on my hard drive. ill look for it... and yes, it did run an 11-something. funny thing is, it looked stock and i think it was brown.

i like the contour, i was actually looking into getting the SVT contour. My dad works for ford so i would get the A plan. "factory cost" , maybee a new X someday or even a sport trac.

I agree, SVT Contours are pimp. I test drove a bunch of em before I got my new X. I would get one, but I dont like FWD.
You say you were thinkin about gettin one, I am pretty sure they dont make em anymore.

Some kid around me that has a minivan riced it up. Becasue he was so annyed by the stupid civics, he had "minivan racing" put in HUGE letters on the top of his windshield. Hes got a bean-bag charis and a table with a lavalamp in the back. Its pimp!

I think there is nothing wrong with having fun with a minivan. My first vehicle was a minivan and I had lot's of fun with and in it If there would be a capable mini or regular van with a factory 4x4 with low box (no awd) and decent ground clearance, that's what I probably would drive today.

a few weeks ago up in northern minnesota near a town called biwabik i came across a 1988 or so minivan with the vanity license plate trbovan, the guy was sort of messing with me on the highway and i quickly found that i couldn't keep up! he was able to go from 80 to a hundred or so much faster than me. luckily we pulled into a town after a few miles of that crap and after getting a good look at the van (wide front tires, aftermarket spoke 15s, and a 3 inch exhaust tip among other things) i smoked him from stoplight to 45 or 50 before i shut down for the speed limit. i have a bad feeling that he would have had me had we raced a full quarter though. i hadn't really planned on admitting to anyone that this had happened, but this thread makes it seem relevent if not necessary.

also, my grandpa has an 01 windstar like that one, and i love it. i would drive that saleen van for sure as long as it pushes 250 hp or more.

There is a guy near me with a late 90s dodge caravan thats got all sorts of *stuff* done to it. altEEEZas, rims, tires etc etc. though ive been told it has motor work and a turbo. and the best part is the guy who drives is it handicapped and is in a wheel chair.

there is a speed shop in the next town over from mine, and my buddy works there. they usually only work on detomaso panteras (ford at heart!) but will modify the crap out of whatever you want if youve got money falling out of your butt. some guy had a turbocharged 351 W put under the front of his caravan. it has stock rims, no ground affects, and the quietest exhaust ive ever heard. it will ROAST a brand new vette. talk about the perfect sleeper.
