On my 95 XLT, I have looked at every post I can find and everyone says it comes out but they can't remember how. One says that there are torx screws, he thinks? (I can't see any). Everyone else skips over that part. Its like a Clymers manual. "Just remove it". Does anyone have an idea? Does it rotate off? Or clip on/off? Or just pry with a big screwdriver. Sorry to sound frustrated but every post on this site talks in great detail how to remove the steering wheel but seems to skip over the most important part. Are there any tabs pressed in? I can see how tabs might lock it on to the center shaft but before I start forcing things, I thought I would take another look. I even have the factory Ford manuals from my year and it doesn't even show how!!!

Any help is more than greatly appreciated.

Added Question

I got the cover off and saw that there is a top and bottom clip that has to be pushed in to pry off complete clock spring. No screws, only two (2) tabs. My question now is, can I just unplug the wire plug from the back of the clock spring housing and use the existing wiring to the ignition switch or do I have to use the new wire bundle that comes with the spring, necessitating removing the ignition switch to get at the "blue clip"? I have the same failure that everyone describes (no horn/cruise) and was thinking that the wiring isn't the cause of the failure but the contacts inside the clock spring housing? Could I be right?

Again, all ideas appreciated

rather than guessing, get a meter and check for sure.
