Just finished installing a new transmission in my 2004 XLT. Took for test drive everything worked great. Only problem is the pointer on the column is off. Like in between each position PRND321. How do I adjust this pointer so when I'm in drive it's on the "D" not in between the "D and "3"
Thanks

I remember seeing this months ago. Not sure it's applicable for Explorers but may be of help

Just remember, I call that red pointer the, "Prindle indicator" because it doesn't tell you what gear the transmission is in. It tells you what gear you asked the transmission to be in. After that, there is the adjustment just below the instrument cluster, but be careful, it is easy to break. There are two tabs you can depress to get the Prindle indicator out of the bottom of the instrument cluster, and it is critical you do that before removing the instrument cluster.

I hope I didn't just repeat what that 10 minute video said.
