Can someone tell me or show me how to aim these projectors? I thought I did it to a good height but the whole light stream is just ####ed up, theres spots where the light doesnt go through and i dont know if thats just because theyre ****ty projectors or if they arent aimed properly.
thanks.

have you adjsuted the star wheel on the back of the projector housing?

Using a flathead screw driver from straight obve the light you can adjust the height and side to side aim of the projector

If you need more adjustment then that (you likely will) then you will need to shim the mounts a bit, adjusting the stock mouting points, screw holes, etc. It took a bit of work to get my projectors to aim up high enough.... but my 96 had front end damage before I rebuilt it

check the bulb mounting or HID bulb mounting you have int eh back of the projector also, if the bulb is not seated properly the light output will suffer BIG TIME

these lights were a bit of a PITA to install, such a tight ft making adjustment difficult, thats why I took the extra time to clearance my header panel to allow them to fit with room for the electronics and housing... making adjustments possible instead of just stffing them in there....

well i used a phillips bit and some little ratcheting wrench to get the screw straight on, i adjusted it, but like i said i dont know if light output is messed up when its not aimed properly or if its just the way the lights are.

have you searched online for how to aim hedlights properly? there is a method to the maddness

You can see the light pattern I had from my projectors in my Explorer build thread, there is an obvious light beam with a center that you can aim

It would help if you provided some pictures. Some details on the projectors etc. I can usually help you out if I have the basic information provided.

I believe he has the same lights I do:

Now after some testing of the wiring and the new lights I decided to make a few changes.
I wanted the flat light bar (above the projector) to illuminate yellow and flash with the turn signal
So I installed some 194 yellow marker bulbs:

and I made the following wiring changes:
wires1.jpg

This is the stock (truck side) light socket for the top turn signal

It attaches to the new light here:

yellow bulbs go here:

Now to cut the wires:
wirecut.jpg

brown CUT WIRE from truck now becomes power for halo's (parking lamp 12V+ feed)
mod3.jpg

1. Green from new light wired to brown, truck side (now + for halo ballast, from above)
2. Black from new light tapped into black ground (- for halo ballast, from above)
3. brown power feed to new yellow bulbs tapped into white/green (signal flasher from truck)
---ONLY DO #3 if you want your flat bar to be a turn signal not parking lamp as intended from manufacturer---

now to fit the light
Wires route in prep for light (for best fit), ballsts go through the holes the wires are coming from

light wired in prep for fitting:
lightwired.jpg

Note bluew socket on top right, red and black wires get pushed into the light and tan colored plastic fitting is twisted into the housing
turn signal bulb also gets pressed and turned into housing
not pictured, not lots of room to work here

NOW the grill goes on, it is not easy to get the lights through the grill and grill around lights, very carefully here:
grillscrew.jpg

Then the lights go in, press in 3 places like factory side marker and two top screws hold them in place
grill installed

ballast is hung, I dont trust 2 sided tape behind the grill for long:
ballast1.jpg

I removed the battery and also zip tied the other ballast in place as well as loose wiring

installed!

Oops fitment issue with grill:

the humps on top of the new lights dont clear:
problembumps.jpg

cut some plastic away with air grinder, careful here:

Perfect fitment, I am impressed with the engineering in these new lights ($$$$$$$):

Bulbs are Sylvania Extra Vision, high and low beams (h3 and H1)
LIGHTS HAVE NOT BEEN AIMED yet
