Find the wire that goes to the high beam switch and tap into it. Then run it to the relay for the 550's where the switch terminals are. It shows the diagram in the instructions with the lights. Sorry I cant be of much help, its been a while since I installed my lights and I have never hooked mine to my hi-beams before.

Essentially what you need is to activate the relay that turns on the power leg from the battery. So everything will be wired as normal minus the switch. Ground on the relay to ground. Ground on lights to ground. Hot(constant) from battery to relay. Hot from relay to lights. Here is the difference, instead of using the switch you will use the tap of the high beams to activate the coil of the relay instead of the switch on the interior. Very simple install, keeps you from mounting another switch inside. Remember to take the covers off of the lights before turning them on. In a matter of minutes those covers could get really hot and start other problems. Just take your time, be thorough, and remember to use shrink wrap!

Good luck, let me know how you do.

I think i am cursed. The ground wire leading from the switch got caught on fire. And now the lights work when i hook up the other two wires but they wont turn off. I havent tried another ground wire yet.

I spliced mine into the green wire coming out of the back of the drivers side light, if you are looking down at it, it is the wire closest to the engine.

If it is the low beam, just switch it.

Good luck

Naga Sadow,

If your ground wire fried then you short the main power to ground. If you ran a wire from the battery to a small amperage fuse to the switch then back to the relay then to ground off of the relay there should not have been a problem; the switch should not be grounded.
Watch the pin locations on the relay and make sure you are not crossing your wires.

Remember to fuse all wire coming from the battery either by a fuse or a fusible link wire. Never run a wire from the battery into the vehicle unfused.

I hope that covers your shorting problem.

The lights on, with high beams, find the high beam wire in the engine bay and use it to activate the relay for the lights. Also, you can add an additional switch in the cab to turn off the lights if you wanted to.

Good Luck,

I give up! I'm taking her to a offroad store to see if they can do it for me. they should work then. kipee kaiyay:bounce:

If you are not really confortable with wiring then it is some times better to let a pro do it and pay the price.

Less grief and aggravation !

Good Luck with the project.

Sorry I didnt catch this earlier. This is the best wireing diagram I have seen. Dead Link Removed

Should answer a lot of questions.

Matt, maby you could save this at the top of the column or whatever it is you do to do that there thing.

I had a place do it for me. They work very well. It seems that i had two wires mixed up.
