How to change bulbs behind speedometer panel

Hi There,

Some of the bulbs that light the speedometer panel are gone dead. Dark panel at night driving. How can I open the panel and replace them.

do a search on here, there are detailed directions w/pics, search new gauges as well, I think that is where I found my instructions. It is a royal pain in the ass! make sure you change them all while you are at it, cuz you won't want to take it apart again. I missed one, but don't feel like messing with it again for a while.

this is hard as hell for just changing bulbs...
REMOVE ASHTRAY AND TWO SCREWS HOLDING IT IN
REMOVE STEREO
REMOVE DASH PANEL
TURN KEY TO ON, AND SLIDE GEAR SELECTOR TO 1ST GEAR (IF AUTO) SO IT IS OUT OF THE WAY

THEN FROM LEFT TO RIGHT REMOVE GAUGES, THE SPEEDO IF HAS CABLE YOU WILL NEED TO SEPERATE THE CABLE FROM SPEEDO, WHEN YOU REASSEMBLE IT USE A LIL BIT OF DIEELECTRIC GREASE ON CABLE CONNECTON.

AT THIS PONT IF YOU WANT TO REMOVE DASH YOU CAN BUT MAY NOT BE NESSECARY. TO DO THAT PRY LOOSE THE ELECTRCAL CONNECTORS FROM DASH PANEL, REMOVE ALL THE SCREWS HOLDING DASH IN. YOU WILL ASLO NEED TO TAKE OUT THE SCREWS HOLDING IN THE GEAR SELECTOR PANEL (IF AUTO) SO YOU CAN MOVE IT OUT OF THE WAY.

CHANGE ***ALL*** OF YOUR BULBS NOW! CAUSE YOU DONT WANT TO HAVE TO DO THIS FOR A BURNED OUT BULB AGAIN.

REASSEMBLE THEY WAY YOU TOOK IT APART.

FIGURE ON 2 HOURS, I HAVE DONE THIS FOR DIFF REASONS LKE 7 TIMES, I CAN DO T IN 30 MINS BUT TAKING YOUR TIME HERE IS IMPOOIRTANT SO YOU DONT FRY ANYTHING...IMPORTANT NOTE: ****DO NOT USE ANYTHING METAL TO REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS, IF YOU DO YOU CAN FRY THE PRINTED CIRCUT BEHIND DASH PANEL.

Here is a link to a write up I did on how to install indiglo guages. Follow this up untill the 14th picture and then you have complete access to the bulbs. You should be able to finish this in a hour tops.

You can't beat this pictured how-to. I did opened it in 45 minutes and changed the bulbs. The only tricky part was speedo cable.I want to open the glass and clean the face too. and I guess I can reasemble it in even less time.
