How to Change Head Gasket

Hello there,
Is any can support to explain how to change Head Gasket, my 96 Ford Explorer XLT start to consume water, I have noticed its leaking to out side, leakage amount has been decresed once I tried to tight head gasket bolts.
I appreciate if some one can send me the procedure of changing Head Gasket, Is it hard to do??

Yes, it is a PIA to do. But it is not impossible. Assuming you have an OHV engine, it basically amounts to removing all the top end parts, upper and lower intake manifold, valve covers, valve train and exhaust manifolds. Of course, you have to remove the A/C compressor, power steering pump and alternator. Do yourself a favor and get a Haynes, or Chilton manual before you start, you will be glad you did.

I don't know if you will find a downloadable version on the 'net. Look on e-bay, there are any number of manuals available, and they are not very expensive. Usually much cheaper,even with postage, than going to the local parts house. Of course, that is here in the States.
