I was told by dealer and someone else my Powers steering fluid is nasty looking. Can someone direct me as to how to change it out? Thanks

ps fluid change

The non-messy way: I use a kitchen baster (I have my own for the garage so my parole officer doesn't get all in a dither) to remove fluid from the reservoir then add clean fluid to the full mark. I drive the vehicle for a couple of days and then repeat a few times until the stuff coming out look clean. Takes a bit of time but no mess or air in the system. If yours is really dirty then this might not be the way to go. I change the fluid every couple of years. I do the same for the brake fluid.

before my extended warrenty ran up i heard a slight squeek coming from the steering wheel and had the shop check it out.

They told me the fluid is dirty so to speak and should be changed out. told me they have some special machine that hooks up to a line and flushes it all out.

squeek is still there but i will be changing the fluid here soon.

i like my turkey baster idea better then paying the ford shop to do it. I have used it many times.
