to answer Yob- yes petroleum does eat rubber. but, very, very slowly and over a long period of time. by the time the WD-40 eats through your radiator hose, it would have needed to be replaced a long time before. (and by the way, i work with rubber compounds every day @ C**per Tire & Rubber Co. here in my town; im not just saying this because i think it might work.) BTW- rubber has oil in it. we put it there.
