I'm working on moving the rear view mirror up a few inches because it's blocking my view. And I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to loosen up the glue to get the thing off of the windshield because it's really stuck to it. Thanks!

If the button had already come off just scrape the residue with a razor blade.
It is still on there I would let it be.
You don't want to risk cracking the windshield

I was gonna suggest the cleaner that comes in a kit with the new glue, but it may not be enough. Typically, acetone (nail polish remover) is the all-around glue dissolver, but getting it behind that little metal tab is gonna be a challenge. It evaporates pretty fast, so you may have to sit there with a small dropper, and bring a snack and beverage. :D

I was watching this thread- I was wishing/hoping someone knows a trick or two. Well I guess, Manix, we're **** out of luck. ;) :D

Call a windshield replacement co. they have to get them off all the time.
