I recently got my windshield pitted and a very small crack in my windshield. I just had this windshield replaced in April 2004, So I would like to try to save it from cracking anymore to avoid replacing it. Has anyone used a window fix kit or knows of a trick to keep the crack from traveling any further? Thanks

Once the crack travels more than 1/4 inch you will not be able to stop it :(

I have found that I have had the best luck by using a mixture of products. Let me explain. The Permatex brand product is very runny... but it gets into small cracks nicely.... So I start by doing using Permatex, regardless... often twice..sometimes 3 times... you can reuse what is left in the syringe, it only sets by exposure to sunlight.... (I keep some around and it seems to last forever out of direct sunlight)... follow directions.... then... get an epoxy type repair kit, where you mix the 2 parts... do a finish with that and then razor blade it... it's the best repair you can get (often not "perfect"... but I think you will be happy with the result....)

stress cracks.... are bad news. My system works best on bullseyes.
